This will support digital transformation in every industry, be it to provide people-centered public services and a just healthcare system, or encourage financial inclusion and manufacturing production efficiency,” he continued.

Warta Eknomi report that the collaboration includes four important strategies:

1. Accelerating digital transformation across industries

Google Cloud and Telkomsigma, Telkom’s subsidiary for IT Services, will partner to accelerate digitization in key priority sectors according to the 2024 Indonesia Digital Roadmap.

Telkomsigma will carry out jointly developed infrastructure modernization, application modernization, data analysis, as well as productivity and collaboration solutions to help address specific challenges faced by companies and communities.

2. Bridging the national digital talent gap

Telkom and Google Cloud will establish a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) consisting of cloud architecture, edge computing , data management and application modernization experts.

By facilitating internal certification and skills improvement programs through the curriculum that Google uses to train its technical experts around the world, CCoE will inspire all of Telkom’s subsidiaries and business units.

To address Indonesia’s growing need for advanced digital skills, the CCoE will partner with Telkom CorpU-ITDRI ( Indonesia Telecommunications and Digital Research Institute ) – a center for developing digital talent and strengthening organizational capabilities for leading innovation – to offer flexible training programs through Google Career Certificate Scholarship, say Warta Ekonomi.

These programs enable Indonesians to gain job-ready skills and pursue careers in data analytics, IT, project management, and user experience (UX) design.

In addition, Telkom plans to provide guidance and job opportunities for graduates of the Awaken Google program supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and equip students with machine learning (ML) training, cloud computing, mobile device application development , and soft skills to help them get jobs in required fields and build a career after they graduate.

3. Empower Indonesian start-ups to grow and scale globally

Indonesia is home to more than 2,400-start-ups , making it the sixth largest start-up ecosystem in the world. To help more early-stage start-ups in Indonesia build and improve their innovative businesses, Telkom’s venture capital subsidiary will partner with Google for Start-ups Cloud Programs to help connect start-ups to greater technical, business, and financial support. Through the Google Cloud Program for Start-ups, eligible start-ups can receive up to USD 200,000 Google Cloud and Firebase for up to two years. Start-ups in the program can also receive access to Google Cloud engineers and experts across Google, and be invited to workshops and events.

4. Deliver smart infrastructure and high-quality digital services

CCoE will integrate Google Cloud’s classy, secure and eco-friendly infrastructure, as well as advanced artificial intelligence and analytics (AI) tools with Telkom’s extensive network and connectivity infrastructure to enhance quality digital services to local consumers in metro and non-metro areas, as well as market segments enterprise.

Google Cloud plans to explore opportunities to use Telkom ‘s infrastructure and Telkom can also explore various innovation initiatives with Google’s Android team, to develop cooperation in order to enrich the customer experience.
