Astungkara Way, a social enterprise based in Bali, is dedicated to cultivating a regenerative future for travel and food by reconnecting people with nature and the source of our food. We are leading Bali’s largest movement to transition 10% of its rice paddies—8,000 hectares with 15,000 farmers—from conventional to regenerative farming by 2030, reducing the use of harmful chemicals and improving farmer livelihoods by 80%. Our 135-kilometer “Astungkara Trail,” praised by Condé Nast Traveler as the “El Camino of Bali,” connects communities engaged in regenerative farming and provides authentic cultural experiences, while generating over 80% of our revenue. Our impact-driven activities focus on restoring ecosystems, human health, and local economies, with revenue coming from rice sales, experiential farming courses, and trail bookings. Founded in 2021, our mission is to create a sustainable model for regeneration in Bali that can inspire global change.
