Indonesia’s property sector attracted approximately Rp120.4 trillion in investment between January and September 2026, spread across 3,338 projects nationwide.
The investment was channeled into various property segments, including residential developments, industrial estates, and office buildings.
Domestic investors accounted for the largest share of funding during the first nine months of 2026.
According to data from the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board/BKPM, domestic investment/PMDN in the property sector reached Rp80.4 trillion, representing 10.6% of total domestic investment realization.
Meanwhile, foreign direct investment (FDI) contributed the remaining Rp40 trillion, accounting for 29.57% of total property sector investment and 5.1% of Indonesia’s overall FDI realization during the period.
Most domestic property investment was concentrated in Banten, which attracted 19.96% of total PMDN in the sector. West Java followed with 18.84%, while East Java accounted for 17.25%.
On the foreign investment side, Bali emerged as the top destination, attracting 21.24% of total FDI in the property sector. Jakarta ranked second with 19.47%, followed by West Java with 15.21%.
With a total investment value of Rp120.4 trillion, the property sector ranked fifth among Indonesia’s largest investment subsectors when combining both domestic and foreign investment realization.
The figures indicate that Indonesia’s property market continues to attract strong interest from both local and international investors.
For reference, the investment data was calculated using the 2026 state budget exchange rate assumption of Rp16,500 per U.S. dollar, with figures presented in trillion rupiah.
