Kompas are reporting that on the side-lines of the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) Meeting in Davos, that Indonesia and the UK have decided to sign an agreement between the two countries at the forthcoming G20 Summit in Bali.
Indonesian Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia met with British Investment Minister Lord Grimstone at Davos after which Bahlil released a statement saying that the Ministry of Investment, representing the Indonesian government, was ready to cooperate with the British government regarding investment. “I think we need to create a special team to realize this cooperation. We will sign the cooperation agreement when the G20 Bali 2022 Summit takes place next November.”
Bahlil, believes cooperation between Indonesia and the UK will have a positive impact on increasing two-way investment and promoting mutually beneficial added value. The scope of the cooperation will cover three priority sectors:
- the downstream nickel mining and other minerals that generate added value
- new and renewable energy (EBT), and
- the health industry.
