Crypto Investment Growth in Indonesia Gains Momentum for 2026

Crypto investment growth in Indonesia continues to show strong momentum as the market heads toward 2026. Although transaction values fluctuate month to month, the number of crypto investors keeps rising. According to the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Indonesia recorded 19.08 million crypto investors as of October 2025. This steady expansion signals sustained public interest and positions crypto as a growing segment of the national financial landscape.

Crypto Investment Growth Signals Strong Market Demand

Indonesia’s crypto market continues to attract new participants despite short-term volatility. OJK data shows investor numbers rose 2.50 percent month on month in October 2025. Meanwhile, crypto transaction value reached IDR 37.20 trillion (around USD 2.4 billion) in November 2025, although this figure declined from the previous month. However, investor growth remains the more important indicator of long-term demand. Increasing participation reflects deeper market penetration and stronger public trust in digital assets. Moreover, crypto adoption has already surpassed traditional capital market participation since regulatory oversight shifted to OJK, reinforcing confidence in the sector’s long-term prospects.

Indonesia Crypto Regulation Builds Investor Confidence

Clearer regulation plays a central role in sustaining crypto investment growth. The transfer of crypto oversight to OJK has created a more structured and transparent regulatory environment. Tokocrypto CEO Calvin Kizana described 2026 as a turning point for the global crypto ecosystem, explaining that the digital asset market is transitioning away from speculative behavior and toward closer alignment with traditional finance.

He added that clearer and more comprehensive regulation will increase confidence, attract significant institutional capital through products such as ETFs and real-world asset tokenization, and expand blockchain utility across various industries. In Indonesia, this regulatory foundation supports higher trading volumes and broader participation from both retail and institutional investors. As a result, regulation no longer acts as a barrier but instead becomes a growth catalyst.

Bitcoin Price Outlook Influenced by Global Macro Factors

The Bitcoin price outlook for 2026 remains diverse due to shifting global macroeconomic conditions. Calvin explained that market projections span a wide range, driven by liquidity trends and investor sentiment. He noted, “Some analysts remain optimistic, seeing opportunities for Bitcoin to reach or even exceed the USD 130,000–150,000 range or higher in a bullish scenario driven by rising institutional demand and global liquidity.”

However, uncertainty persists. Calvin cautioned, “More cautious projections acknowledge inherent volatility, suggesting Bitcoin may trade in a more moderate range depending on market conditions and liquidity support, with the risk of significant downside if sentiment deteriorates.” He also highlighted the importance of US Federal Reserve policy, including the potential for interest rate cuts and leadership changes. At the same time, he warned, “The Fed could maintain a cautious stance or implement only limited rate cuts, which may restrain Bitcoin’s short-term price momentum. In addition, the Bank of Japan may also tighten interest rates.”

Crypto Investor Growth Driven by Retail Adoption and Tools

Beyond macro factors, crypto investor growth in Indonesia also benefits from improved accessibility and education. Local platforms continue to introduce tools designed to support disciplined investing, especially for beginners. For example, Pintu launched Auto Dollar Cost Averaging Explore Plans to simplify routine crypto investing through structured asset categories. Internal data shows Auto DCA transactions grew more than 17 percent in the third quarter of 2025.

Pintu’s Head of Product Marketing, Iskandar Mohammad, explained the goal behind the feature. “Through Auto DCA Explore Plans, we simplify the process by providing categories that allow users to invest more systematically,” he said. He also emphasized long-term habits, stating, “Auto DCA Explore Plans helps users understand asset characteristics that match their needs while building disciplined, routine investment habits.”

Outlook for Indonesia’s Crypto Market in 2026

Looking ahead, Indonesia’s crypto market enters 2026 with balanced optimism. Tokocrypto projects continued investor expansion but acknowledges potential moderation depending on global sentiment. In a bullish scenario, Indonesia could add 7 to 8 million new investors, bringing the total close to 27 million. Under more cautious conditions, the market may still reach around 25 million investors. Calvin stressed that growth should remain sustainable, noting that the focus extends beyond volume toward education, risk management, and ecosystem resilience. Together, regulation, institutional interest, and disciplined retail participation shape a resilient outlook for crypto investment growth in Indonesia.
