Indonesia International Halal Festival 2025 to Offer Free Certifications

Indonesia International Halal Festival 2025 will run from June 20 to 22 at the Jakarta Convention Center. Organized by the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH), the event aims to enhance Indonesia’s role in the global halal market and support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

A key highlight of the festival is BPJPH’s offer of free halal certifications and consultations at its booth, helping MSMEs better understand the certification process and access global markets.

Free Certifications at the Indonesia International Halal Festival

The availability of free halal certifications reflects BPJPH’s commitment to supporting MSMEs in scaling their businesses internationally. For many smaller enterprises, obtaining halal certification can be cost-prohibitive and complicated. By removing these barriers, BPJPH hopes to open the door to global halal markets.

“If today many entrepreneurs or MSMEs are wondering, ‘How can we enter the international market?’ This is the place. If any business owners are asking, ‘How can we truly build public trust in our products?’ This is the place!” said BPJPH Head Haikal Hasan, as quoted on the agency’s official website.

Haikal added that the program will be covered by national and international media, ensuring widespread exposure for participating businesses and further establishing Indonesia’s credibility in the global halal industry.

Empowering MSMEs to Go Global

The Indonesia International Halal Festival (IIHF) 2025 serves as a strategic platform to help MSMEs meet international halal standards. Many small businesses struggle to compete in global markets due to a lack of resources and certification. BPJPH’s initiative addresses this issue directly.

By providing thousands of free certifications, the agency equips local businesses with the tools they need to thrive globally. The festival’s services also ensure that business owners gain a clear understanding of what it takes to meet global halal compliance standards.

Indonesia Halal Industry Targets Global Leadership

The festival is more than a local initiative; it is part of a broader national goal. Indonesia is working to become a global leader in halal product exports. The event aligns with the country’s ambition to climb the Global Islamic Economy Indicator (GIEI) rankings, as outlined in the State of the Global Islamic Economy (SGIE) Report.

“It is time for Indonesia not only to be a market, but also to become the center of global halal production,” said Muti Arintawati, President Director of the Halal Inspection Agency of the Indonesian Ulema Council (LPH LPPOM) in a written statement as reported by Liputan6.com.

Muti emphasized that the festival offers an opportunity for Indonesia to showcase its robust halal ecosystem and to catch up with other countries that already hold annual international halal events.

Public Services and Educational Programs at IIHF

The IIHF will also feature various educational activities aimed at increasing public awareness about halal certification. LPH LPPOM, one of Indonesia’s oldest halal inspection agencies, will provide hands-on services including skin-type testing for consumer goods and demonstrations of halal testing methods like Real Time PCR and LC-MS/MS.

“We want to erase the stigma that halal certification is complicated, expensive, and time-consuming. This festival is the right venue to explain it directly to the public and business actors,” Muti stated.

She also pointed out that halal awareness is not solely the responsibility of businesses. Consumers must also act as social watchdogs to ensure producers remain accountable.

Collaboration Across Institutions and Regions

The success of the halal certification program relies heavily on collaboration. LPH LPPOM continues to maintain high-quality services by deploying certified auditors across Indonesia. The agency also works closely with regional governments, associations, and other institutions to provide technical guidance and outreach.

“Collaboration is the foundation. Without it, major targets will not be achieved. The Indonesia Halal Festival is clear proof of this collaboration, and we are fully committed to supporting it,” Muti concluded.

Strengthening Indonesia’s Global Halal Ecosystem

With full support from BPJPH, LPH LPPOM, and other key stakeholders, the Indonesia International Halal Festival 2025 is poised to elevate the country’s status in the global halal economy. By combining free certifications, public education, and institutional synergy, Indonesia is taking a significant step toward becoming the world’s leading halal product exporter.
