Who’s Who in the Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet

President-elect Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to be officially sworn in as Indonesia’s next president on Sunday (20/10/24,) and has summoned 108 potential candidates for ministerial and agency head positions over the past two days, according to reporting from Jakarta Globe.

The first day saw 49 candidates, most of whom, were being interviewed by Prabowo at his residence in South Jakarta for potential ministerial positions and head of agencies.

Key figures included Zulkifli Hasan, Chair of the National Mandate Party (PAN); Bahlil Lahadalia, Chair of Golkar; Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Chair of the Democratic Party; Yusril Ihza Mahendra, founder of the Crescent Star Party (PBB); and Muhaimin Iskandar, Chair of the National Awakening Party (PKB), who was also a former running mate of Anies Baswedan in the 2014 election against Prabowo.

Other notable candidates included Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani, and human rights activist Natalius Pigai.

Jakarta Globe says that on Tuesday (15/10/24,), a total of 59 prominent figures, expected to take on roles mostly as deputy ministers and heads of agencies, gathered at Prabowo’s residence. They signed agreements to join the administration.

These figures represent a wide range of backgrounds, including professionals, political party members, public figures, and academics. Public figures Raffi Ahmad and musician Yovie Widianto, along with Anis Matta, Chairman of the Gelora Party, were among those present.

Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Daily Chairperson of Gerindra, said that the selection process for the day had been completed. “Those who were invited today have been chosen as candidates for deputy ministers and heads of agencies prepared by Prabowo,” Dasco said.

Dasco also noted that adjustments could still be made in the coming days. “There might be one or two more candidates considered until October 18 or 19, as final decisions are still being made,” he explained.

Jakarta Globe reports that while the final list of names and their assigned roles have yet to be fully finalized, Dasco assured that further details will be shared with the media once decisions are made.

Prabowo will hold a briefing session for the prospective ministers, deputy ministers, and heads of agencies at his private residence in, Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday (16/10/24.)
